Every good friend was once a stranger.
London is home to thousands of people who escaped violence and persecution in their countries. Today, they are our neighbours. Yet we never have the opportunity to meet up and get to know each other. In fact, studies show that London is becoming more diverse but also more segregated.
90% of people with refugee status at Refugee Connection, who have been living in London for at least 2 years, but some for up to 20 years, told us that they did not know a single British person before joining our organisation
We aim to change this by connecting Londoners all over the city with people seeking asylum and those with refugee status, to find friendship over a walk in the park, an afternoon at a museum, a cup of coffee or a pint in the pub.

Every Monday we open our doors at the Calthorpe Project, for everyone involved to spend time together and get practical advice.
